About Accu-Mold Plastics

In 1972, Jack L. Strohecker had the vision for a business providing high quality, precision injection molds and components to the electronic industry. With that dream, Jack and his wife Mary Lou started a small tool & die company in the basement of their home in Halifax, PA. This beginning would grow to become known as the Accu-Mold & Tool Company.

In the beginning, a locally based electronics manufacturing company recognized their commitment to custom, precision mold and tool building and was integral to the startup stages of the business. Within a short period of time, additional opportunities arose from companies such as American Catheter Company and Hamilton Watch. Accu-Mold’s client base began to steadily grow.

With this success arose the desire to actually produce molded product from these custom molds and tools. In 1973, Accu-Mold and Tool Company became a full service, in-house provider of custom designed injection molded products through the purchase of its first automatic injection molding machine. This new comprehensive, full-service approach was a success and before long Accu-Mold expanded from one injection molding machine to many. Opportunities in the disposable medical market in the late 1970’s and early 1980’s united Accu-Mold with several cutting edge medical disposable companies. In addition, we became a sole or partial startup provider of injection molds and products for several fledging, startup companies whose own ideas and products competed with much larger companies in their respective industries.

In 1985, through continued success, Accu-Mold constructed a 9,000SF building that could accommodate numerous injection molding machines along with a completely upgraded design, mold building and tooling department that utilized precision CNC machining and EDM capabilities. More solid growth lead to expanding our molding operations to achieve a shot capacity range from 1 ounce to 9.6 ounces with equipment ranging in size from 24 ton to 125 tons of clamp.

Then on December 01, 2006, Accu-Mold & Tool Company suddenly came to a complete stop. An F-1 tornado hit our town of Halifax and surrounding communities. The destruction left the area devastated as many homes and businesses were affected with ours being demolished. Much credit is given to management for their accelerated actions taken to allow Accu-Mold to be back in production in 8 days. Through all this, our new Accu-Mold facility took shape and was reborn better and stronger than before, even including a Clean Room. Accu-Mold Plastics stands ready and able to serve all your plastic injection molding needs in the most professional and exacting industry standards.
